Sawgrass Village Phase II Redevelopment Underway


Jacksonville, FL (February 2015) Genesis Real Estate Advisers is pleased to announce that Sawgrass Village Shopping Center has started Phase II Redevelopment of the property. Work began February 10th with the demolition of the two office buildings and site work enhancements at the intersection of Front Street and Village Main Street. The demolition of the third office building and the lakefront shops will make way for a new lakefront restaurant and three new retail buildings. Aqua Grill will remain in their current location until their new restaurant building is completed by the end of the 3rd Quarter of 2015. Existing lakefront shop retailers; A’PROPOS Boutique, Marcia’s Place and Village Jewelers will be moving into the Village Main Street shops in spring 2015. In addition, new retailer Peterbrooke Chocolatier along with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Ponte Vedra’s #1 residential real estate company, will be relocating to Sawgrass Village in the Village Main Street Shops in spring 2015.

Opening April 2015 in the Tourside Drive shops, fronting PGA Tour Boulevard, will be long time Sawgrass retailer, Lemon Twist and new to Sawgrass Village, Trasca & Co. Eatery ( Trasca is a one-of-a-kind vintage neighborhood eatery, specializing in “Paninos” sandwiches, created from generational-family recipes, along with craft beer and coffee. Trasca will join long established and local acclaimed restaurants, Caffe Andiamo and Aqua Grill.

All restaurant and retail businesses will be open and opening prior to The Players Championship, May 5-10, 2015. The Players Championship is one of the most anticipated tournaments on the PGA Tour and an event that all retailers in Sawgrass Village and the Ponte Vedra area look forward to each year.

For over 30 years Sawgrass Village has served the Ponte Vedra community. The Sawgrass Village merchants, restaurants and neighbors include: ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Aqua Grill, A’PROPOS Boutique, Caffe Andiamo Italian Restaurant, Chase Bank, Chico’s, CVS Pharmacy, Hilton Garden Inn, Lemon Twist, Ling’s Alterations, Marcia’s Place, Publix, Savelberg Cleaners, Sawgrass Nails, Village Arts Framing & Gallery, Village Jeweler and Wells Fargo.

All merchants and businesses will remain open during the Phase II redevelopment. During certain phases of construction, parking and traffic flow will be temporarily reconfigured during construction to minimize any inconvenience visiting your favorite shops and restaurants.

Phase I redevelopment of Sawgrass Village was completed in March 2014. This included the opening of a new state-of-the-art Publix, along with the relocation of CVS Pharmacy to their new store directly adjacent to Publix. New Village Main Street Shops were constructed as well as the creation of Village Main Street. This new access created the first drivable way for consumers entering Sawgrass Village off AIA to drive through the entire center; it has transformed traffic circulation, connectivity and walkability of the entire development.
